My family have lived on Bribie Island for the past 30 years or so. My mother holidayed there as a child and a street is named after her family, so the place holds special significance for me and the rest of the family.
There is a bridge connecting the island with the mainland, but in mum's day, they took a ferry from Redcliff to the island. Here are some of my favourite pics of the island - taken on a winter's day on the ocean side of the island.
gorgeous. i have never heard of either the island or the ferry town. i'll have to check a map. i dont even know what country you refer to. lucky you to have that background.
