This painting started as something VERY different...
'The Way Home'...finished
This small canvas [30cm x 30cm] has had many lives. The layers from underneath show through slightly and add an extra dimension of texture.
...progress and details,
I am into recycling my canvases - not enough storage room in the studio.
I'm not sure what it is about ladders, but I feel they generally represent progress, climbing higher to better and more fulfilling things, stability, opportunities for growth ....hmmmmmmm
Love this work of yours, always have, this is Noela, ladders and all....it's knowing where to put them within the composition, you always find exactly the right balance.

Thanks Sandra, yes, that composition factor is always the tricky bit.
DeleteThanks for sharing the process. Your work is always fascinating.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, it's fun and rewarding to share - the teacher in me, I guess.
DeleteFascinating to see the changes and evolving of a painting
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie, I'm enjoying the process - not as precious as working on a white canvas.
DeleteThis is wonderful Noela - the progression of the work makes it all the more fascinating!! Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteHi Wyn, glad you are enjoying the process - more to come!
DeleteI have been recycling my canvas for years now...layers upon layers.. really do add a dimension.. palimpsest.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna - thanks for that connection - literally and figuratively adding a new dimension :)
DeleteHi N- well done - great to see that you are keeping pace with the UFOs. And the finished work looks good on the screen. B
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support, Baz. The rust paint is a favourite.
DeleteHeh Noela,
ReplyDeleteI could take a leaf out of your book and finish a course I started last year.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Libby
Hi Libby, yes, I think I have created a monster but it's good to push myself for a change XX
